At Beyond Horizons Youth & Family Services, the safety, wellbeing and rights of children and young people come first.
We are committed to providing environments where children and young people feel safe, respected, heard and supported. Any concern about abuse, neglect, exploitation, inappropriate behaviour or a child’s safety or wellbeing is taken seriously.
If a child or young person is in immediate danger, their life is at risk, they require urgent medical assistance, or a serious crime is occurring:

If you believe a child or young person may be experiencing, or is at risk of experiencing, significant harm, abuse or neglect, you can contact Victorian Child Protection.

You do not need to have proof before raising a genuine child safety concern.
Concerns About Care Provided by BHYFS
If you are worried about the behaviour of a BHYFS worker, the care being provided to a child, or anything occurring within a BHYFS service, we encourage you to speak up.
Concerns can be raised by a child or young person, family member, carer, worker, professional or member of the community.

All child safety concerns will be taken seriously and responded to in accordance with our safeguarding, incident management and reporting obligations.
Where required, concerns will also be reported to Victoria Police, Child Protection, the Social Services Regulator or other relevant authorities.
Children and young people have the right to speak up if they feel unsafe, uncomfortable or worried about themselves or someone else.
We encourage every young person in our care to tell a trusted adult if something does not feel right.
You will be listened to. You will be taken seriously. Asking for help will never get you into trouble.
